Summary
- Position Summary
To support the development of clinical knowledge and strengthen clinical practice through provision of formal/informal education programs; collaborates with health care providers to promote quality patient care outcomes; promotes innovation, excellence in service, and professional growth of clinical staff. The Unit Based Educator works under the direction of the Central Staffing Resources Director.
- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
License/Certifications: Current State of Maine RN license is required.
Experience: Minimum of three years’ acute care experience is required. Prior experience in an educator role preferred.
Demonstrated high knowledge level in nursing process and adult learning principles
Demonstrated high knowledge of critical thinking skills
Ability to collaborate with all healthcare disciplines
Articulates elements of professional practice and demonstrates:
Knowledge of Evidence Based Practice and Patient and Family Centered Care
Understanding of teamwork and collaboration
Effective verbal/written communication skills
Knowledge of process improvement and sound safety strategies
Competence with computer applications
