Job Description:

We’re seeking dependable, caring individuals to join a pool of Substitute Teachers for a special-purpose private school in Presque Isle. This is a flexible opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while having a meaningful impact in the local community. For the right candidate, this role may also open the door to long-term or permanent opportunities within the school system. Work will be performed Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, when staffing coverage is needed. Wages will be $113 per workday.  

The Substitute Teacher will play an important role in supporting students and maintaining a positive learning environment when regular teachers are unavailable. Responsibilities include following lesson plans, taking attendance, managing classroom behavior, assisting students with assignments, taking notes for school staff, and ensuring a safe, respectful atmosphere for all learners. Employee may also supervise students during lunch, recess, or school activities.  

Responsibilities:  

• Support educational efforts by following lesson plans or directions provided by teachers or administrators.
• Supervise and assist students in a positive, professional manner to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Adapt to the varying needs of different classrooms and grade levels.

Job Requirements:  

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting, as required by state education standards.
• Reliability, flexibility, and professionalism.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in working with students of all ages.
