Job Description
Are you looking for a hands-on, physically active job in the marine industry? We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Boatyard Yard Crew Member to join our team! This role is essential in keeping our boatyard running smoothly; assisting with vessel handling, maintenance, and general yard operations.
Responsibilities:
- Haul, launch, block, and move boats using boatyard equipment
- Pressure wash and clean hulls for maintenance and repairs
- Assist with bottom painting, sanding, and basic boat maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized boatyard and work area
- Assist technicians and craftsmen as needed in various boat repair and maintenance tasks
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for equipment use and boat handling
Qualifications:
- Friendly, courteous customer service
- Good listening and communication skills
- Experience working in a boatyard or marine environment (preferred, but not required)
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Comfortable with physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods, climbing ladders
- Attention to OSHA safety protocols
- Basic knowledge of boat handling and marine maintenance (a plus)
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
