Job Description

Department: Warehouse

Basic Function: responsible for the distribution of goods from Spiller’s, through shipment or delivery, to our customers, acting as front line customer service to our clientele. Maintaining proper inventory controls and vendor relations to maintain adequate stock levels 

Responsibilities: 

  • Picking orders and intra-company transfers for distribution.
  • Boxing and preparing for the above for delivery or shipment.
  • Assisting with Sales / Service personal for machinery deliveries.
  • Review orders for accuracy by comparing goods to picking ticket prior to shipment or delivery.
  • Operate Company vehicle in safe, responsible manner to transport orders and pickups as needed.
  • Load and unload company vehicles for deliveries using safe handling techniques, obtain customer signatures upon delivery, return paperwork for processing.
  • Provide good customer service and maintain professional manners and appearance, following noted department dress code, to enhance the company image.
  • Maintain company vehicle interior and exterior through routine upkeep duties such as washing, sweeping back area, refueling and periodic oil check on vehicle.
  • Notify of service needed on vehicle or potential vehicle problems.
  • Report any customer complaints or comments, as appropriate, to management.
  • Warehouse operational duties including but not limited to: restocking of shelves, bin label replacement, custodial maintenance of area (sweeping, emptying of trash receptacles, removal of pallets and cardboard, etc.)
  • Disposal duties, as needed, to proper landfill or reclamation areas, to include materials such as pallets, metal goods, or other materials necessary to daily operations.
  • Safe operation and maintenance of warehouse tools and equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, ladders, etc.
  • Attendance of any mandatory meetings or training sessions as requested by the company.
  • Operation and understanding of UPS distribution equipment, including scales and computer.
  • Check and maintain adequate stock of consumables warehouse materials, such as tape, boxes, UPS computer printer labels, etc.
  • Weekly cycle counting to verify accuracy of inventory on hand with inventory management software
