Job Summary
Next Generation Alarms is seeking an experienced Electrical/Low Voltage Journeyman for a temporary 9-12 month assignment in Lewiston Maine . We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of low voltage systems, including but not limited to security systems, telecommunications, and computer networking. This role requires a strong understanding of schematics and the ability to work with various hand tools and equipment. The Low Voltage Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including security alarms, access control systems, and telecommunications equipment.
- Perform field service tasks to ensure customer satisfaction with installed systems.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment to complete installations and repairs.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand system layouts and wiring configurations.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on installed equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Repair or replace faulty components as necessary, utilizing mechanical knowledge for effective troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Document service calls and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician in the low voltage field.
- Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as an ohmmeter.
- Strong understanding of computer hardware and networking principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics accurately.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
