Retail Associate. 6 temporary, full-time positions.April 1, 2026 to November 30, 2026. Geddy's Pub - Bar Harbor Geddy's DBA Geddy’s Down-Under and Geddy’s By The Sea located at 19 Main St. and 21 Main St., Bar Harbor, ME 04609. heather@geddys.com. A Retail Associate is responsible for assisting customers throughout the buying process and making sure the store looks its best. Job duties include: Greeting customers; Answering questions and assisting customers; Determining customer needs and recommending products; Explaining the features and benefits of products to customers; Helping customers find specific products; Stay up to date on the latest products available in the store; Completing customer purchases on the point of sale (POS) system; Promoting special sales and offers; Cleaning and ensuring shelves, displays, floor, and the overall store are tidy and inviting; Assisting with stock replenishment, inventory counts or product placement; Assisting customers with returning or exchanging products as needed; Receiving new stock and occasional lifting of boxes when new stock is received or closets are organized; Folding and organizing. 35 hours per week. 7 hour work day including a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Sun-Sat. Shifts and days off vary. Potential shift schedules include: 9AM – 5PM, 12-8PM, 11AM-7PM. OT hours possible. No minimum education required. No minimum experience is required. No other requirements for employment. The employee will not supervise other workers. Travel will not be required. Worker will preform work at two locations within walking distance: Geddy’s Down-Under: 19 Main St., Bar Harbor, ME 04609. Geddy’s By The Sea: 21 Main St., Bar Harbor, ME, 04609. Wage: $19.26 per hour. OT Wage: $28.89 per hour. Workers paid weekly. Optional board/lodging available at a cost to be deducted from pay if elected: $160 per week. Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave, 401 (k). On the job training provided. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation, at the company’s sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure. Single workweek will be used to compute wages due. All deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law will be made. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers’ reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $16.28/day during travel to a maximum of $68/day with receipts/documentation of actual expenses. H2B Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job, and guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12 week period of total employment period.
