Sales Associate
Presque Isle, ME - PT/Days - Temp-to-Hire

Now seeking a part-time Sales Associate to work for a locally owned retailer in Presque Isle. Enjoy an excellent daytime schedule and friendly, team-oriented work environment. Prior retail experience helpful, but not required! PT/Days; hours available from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. $15.00 - $20.00/hr., depending on experience. 

The Sales Associate will provide a welcoming atmosphere in the store, as well as help maintain the shop's presentation and security. The employee will assist customers in selecting items such as jewelry, handbags, and specialty gifts, providing knowledgeable and friendly service to ensure a positive shopping experience. Typical tasks include greeting customers, answering questions, processing sales transactions, maintaining clean and organized displays, restocking merchandise, and helping with gift wrapping or special orders. The Sales Associate may also assist with inventory, handle returns or exchanges, and support the overall presentation and atmosphere of the store.

Responsibilities: 
 

• Greet customers coming into the store in a friendly, professional manner.
• Answer customer's questions, assist with product selections, and provide recommendations.
• Process sales transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and returns/exchanges.
• Restock merchandise and ensure that displays are organized, tidy, and visually appealing.
• Maintain store cleanliness by vacuuming, dusting displays, polishing glass cases, and arranging merchandise.
• Assist with inventory tasks, including tagging, organizing, and tracking stock levels.
• Help keep the store secure by monitoring merchandise, following opening/closing procedures, and being attentive to suspicious activity.
• Work alongside colleagues and management to provide a welcoming, customer-focused environment. 

  Job Requirements:   

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to present a friendly and professional attitude. 
• Strong comprehension of basic math and ability to follow good money-handling practices. 
• Prior customer service or retail experience preferred, but not required. 

Schedule: PT/Days; hours available from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00/hr., depending on experience.
