Skilled CarpenterHoulton, ME – FT/Days – Direct Hire Opportunity
Job Description: Now hiring a Skilled Carpenter to work for a locally owned business based out of Houlton. Excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking for long-term, year-round work. Local travel required - projects will be based in northern and central Maine. Competitive pay and full-benefits; health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, paid holidays, retirement plan with company match. FT/Days; 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Overtime and weekends may be needed to meet project deadlines. $20.00 - $35.00/hr., based on experience.
The Skilled Carpenter will complete a wide range of construction duties for commercial and industrial building projects. Employee will perform rough and finish carpentry, framing, siding, installation, and general labor around the jobsite. Other responsibilities may include setup for electrical, plumbing, and/or heating fixtures, as well as job site cleanup. Applicants should have at least 2-3 years of professional carpentry background and be willing/able to provide their own cordless tools and hand tools. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of rough and finish carpentry, including framing, sheathing, siding, trim, and installation of doors, windows, and cabinetry.
- Interpret blueprints and project specifications to complete work accurately and efficiently.
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood, metal, and other materials to install both structural and architectural components.
- Safely and effectively operate hand and power tools; ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained and in good condition.
- Deliver high-quality craftsmanship that meets company standards and project requirements.
- Follow all workplace safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and completion of required safety trainings.
- Collaborate with colleagues, contractors, and management to ensure that all required tasks remain on track to meet project deadlines.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of carpentry experience in commercial construction.
- Proficiency in rough and finish carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and follow construction drawings and layout lines.
- Physical ability to lift, climb, kneel, and perform hands-on construction tasks throughout the day.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00/hr., based on experience. Benefits available: health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, paid holidays, retirement plan with company match.
