Job Description

Community Dental has an opening for Dentist in Portland, ME. Performs high-quality dental health care to all who request services. Provides competent and thorough assessment and treatment. Provides referral for specialty care, case management and hygienist care as appropriate. Maintains regulations and licensure. Maintains current knowledge in field. Performs basic dentistry services within professional ability, including, but not limited to: extractions, restorations, impressions, x-rays and oral exams. Encourages appropriate services through written treatment plans and referrals. Promotes oral health counseling for patients. Responsible for patient clinical chart recordings, treatment plans. Attends required staff meetings and as requested, participates in program planning. Provides preventative oral health education. Provides mentorship and teaching to dental students. Maintains professional education and knowledge on dental procedures and practices. Complies with and shares in implementation of all OSHA safety and infection control requirements. Supervises four (4) Dental residents, three (3) hygienists, and eight (8) dental support staff. Must have Doctoral degree in dentistry (i.e. D.D.S.), or foreign degree equivalent, and 36 months of experience as Dentist in clinical practice, working in public health field, or related.
