Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic – Urgently Hiring!
Pay: $20.97 – $26.97 per hour, based on experience
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; Friday 7:00 AM–12:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a full-time position for our client, a property management organization with multiple buildings located in Auburn, Maine. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform building, mechanical, and grounds maintenance to ensure properties are safe, clean, and in excellent condition. The Maintenance Mechanic will be a reliable and skilled team member capable of working independently and responding to urgent needs. This is a field-based position covering multiple nearby buildings in Auburn, ME.
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
- Perform maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, painting, mechanical, and electrical work
- Operate, maintain, and clean HVAC systems
- Complete work orders and emergency repairs in a timely manner
- Conduct groundskeeping such as mowing, mulching, trimming, and planting
- Perform snowplowing, sanding, and ice control during winter
- Refurbish vacant units including walls, ceilings, floors, appliances, and fixtures
- Remove rubbish and clean common areas
- Respond to emergency calls and participate in an on-call rotation once hired permanently
- Travel between assigned locations using a company vehicle
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of general maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no major issues within the past 3 years)
- Ability to snowplow
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined or elevated areas
- Ability to pass a pre-employment fit-for-work physical at Concentra (JD is on file)
- Ability to pass a background check conducted by Bonney Staffing
- Disqualifiers include: Sex offenses, felonies involving theft or robbery, and DV assault
- Other records older than 10 years may be discussed
