Mill Laborer
Ashland, ME - FT/Nights – Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Job Description:
Immediate openings for Mill Laborers with a well-established employer in Ashland. Great entry-level opportunity with competitive pay and opportunities to move into more advanced roles. Benefits available after temp-to-hire period. Full-time/Nights; 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM, 4 days per week, Monday – Friday. Some overtime available as needed. $21.93/hr. + $2.00/hr. night shift differential. Attendance bonuses available.
Mill Laborers will be responsible for operating and maintaining basic machinery used in the lumber production process. Employees will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and safe processing of raw logs into finished lumber products.
Responsibilities:
- Operate production machinery, such as saws, conveyors, and planers.
- Load/unload raw materials and finished products from equipment or work areas.
- Inspect finished lumber to ensure that products conform to quality standards.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures as directed by site supervisor.
- Notify management of any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns in a timely manner.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- Ability to operate machinery, stand for extended periods, and move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
- Background check required.
Schedule: Full-time/Nights; 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM, 4 days per week, Monday – Friday. Some overtime available as needed.
