City of Portland - Treasury Cashier Clerk

Finance Department - Full Time (37.5 hrs.), Permanent Position

Job Summary: Join our dynamic Treasury Division as a Cashier Clerk and play a pivotal role in providing essential services to our community. In this role, you’ll greet customers and handle a variety of financial transactions such as car and boat registration, parking tickets, and property tax collections in a fast-paced, people-oriented environment.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of account posting, and cash handling and reconciliation procedures
• Ability to work at a very high degree of accuracy keeping detailed records
• Ability to meet and interact with the public in a helpful and courteous manner
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time doing data entry at counters

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience working with diverse clients
• Preference will be given to candidates who are multi-lingual

Expected Hours:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary & Benefits:

This is a Union position, CEBA (Grade 13) - Salary range starting at $23.50/hr.
