Join our team as a Payments Specialist I and play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and efficient back-office operations for the Atlantic FCU Payments division. In this position, you'll be the go-to problem solver, providing valuable information, thoughtful suggestions, and innovative solutions to our internal branches, members, and prospective clients. You'll masterfully communicate across a variety of platforms—including mail, email, text, chat, phone, and video—to ensure that every interaction is prompt, efficient, and infused with friendly service.

 

You'll not only uphold our corporate policies and standards but also actively contribute to shaping the future of our services. Collaborate closely with the Payments & Fraud Manager to tackle special projects and action items that drive our business objectives forward. Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently managing Payments Processing tasks with precision and effective prioritization. Key responsibilities include processing payments according to schedule and policies, ensuring compliance, and handling functions like debit card ordering, fraud monitoring, dispute processing, wire transfers, and EFT originations. You'll also manage card and electronic services, process member requests, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and support the Payments & Fraud Manager with various program administrations. Additionally, you'll review procedures and suggest improvements for greater efficiency and service.
  • This role demands strong communication skills to deliver prompt and efficient service to both internal and external members. Responsibilities include resolving issues through mail, email, text, chat, phone, and video, addressing product and service inquiries, and escalating complex needs with recommendations. Maintain ample knowledge to handle most Payments-related requests courteously and accurately.
  • Review all file maintenance associated with Payments services performed by all Atlantic FCU internal staff to ensure accuracy of systems, changes and adherence to internal policies, guidelines and standards. Ensure documentation is complete and accurate. Analyze errors and formulate resolutions. Cross-train and learn other duties/functions within the department to support the team as needed
