Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant – Urgently Hiring!

Pay: $60,000+ annually

Hours: Monday–Friday, flexible start and end times (7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, can be discussed during interview)

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a full-time position with our client, a dynamic company in the manufacturing sector. This role is vital to the finance team, driving accounting controls and assisting with month-end close processes. The Senior Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and prepare financial statements to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting. This is a business casual role located in Oxford, Maine.

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts and resolving discrepancies
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Supporting internal and external audits with required documentation and schedules
  • Analyzing financial data to support business decisions
  • Assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and other departments
  • Mentoring junior accounting staff as needed

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and Excel
  • Experience with Blackline software and Sage Intacct (preferred)
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in cost accounting and inventory management (preferred)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of housing or construction industry operations (preferred)
