City of Portland - Assistant Director of Nursing
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING – Barron Center
37.5 hours per week
The Barron Center is a 219-bed, municipally operated, long-term and skilled care nursing home which includes a dementia unit. The City of Portland and the Barron Center take pride in our long history of compassionate and individualized care. We work with the guiding principle that “Kindness Matters.” The Assistant Director of Nursing will support the Director of Nursing to assume responsibility for the oversight of clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and above all, commitment to meeting the needs of residents and their families. This role provides the opportunity for you to expand your supervisory skills, work with department budgets, and build relationships with our residents and families. We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
• Current Maine licensure as a Registered Nurse
• Experience in gerontological nursing, preferably in management.
• Knowledge of State and Federal regulations governing the operation of a long-term care facility.
• Considerable experience in rehabilitative, gerontological and long-term care nursing.
• Willingness to be a part of on-call rotation.
Preferred Experience:
• BSN
• Infection control experience preferred.
The successful candidate will receive a $5,000 sign on bonus.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a non-union position (Grade C52) - Salary range: $83,941 - $103,232/year.
