Logistician PMS 339 / PCU Bath, ME

Job Summary: Work is performed within an integrated team comprised of government and private sector groups, who work closely with NAVSEA PEO SHIPS, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Bath, Bath Iron Works and DDG Pre-Commission Units (PCUs). The Surface Ship Training Systems Program Office (PMS 339) is responsible for fleet introduction, training and support of USN surface combatants and auxiliary class crews during new construction. Job Description: Logistics Assistant

+ Review and analyze the Stock Number Sequence Lists (SNSLs), General Usage Consumable Lists (GUCL), Coordinated Shipboard Allowance Lists (COSAL), and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) Load listings.

+ Participate in logistics support and supply documentation reviews to identify discrepancies and initiate corrective actions where required.

+ Identify and report actual and potential non-support areas to the command, and initiating administrative corrective action as required.

+ Assist Ship’s Force in developing the Crew Move-Aboard Plan.

+ Review load plans, ensuring placement of materials in correct stowage locations.

+ Assist inventory load-out to ensure a safe and orderly transfer of materials from stowage to planned locations. Track material shortage lists.

+ Assist the Medical Department in the identification, receiving, inventory control and load-out of all Authorized Medical and Dental Allowances.

+ Manage the day-to-day operation of the PCU mailroom

+ Manage and coordinate PCU vehicles.

+ Coordinate the distribution and management of government provided industrial safety gear (hard hats, safety glasses, etc.) and organizational gear (coveralls, foul weather gear, etc.) to PCU personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

+ US Citizen

+ Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance

+ Effective written and oral communication skills

+ Ability to organize, prioritize, execute multi-tasks and services

+ Strong computer skills to include MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access).

+ Must be able to physically maneuver on board US Navy Ships

+ Lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Experience / Qualifications:

+ Logistics or transportation related work

+ Navy supply chain management
