Job Description

Job Purpose / Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installation, repair, and upkeep of Steel-Pro's facilities and equipment as required and as directed.  The Maintenance Technician will also help maintain inventory for spare parts and shop supplies, as well as, complete general shop duties as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintaining machinery, performing repair activities.
2. Carry out inspections of the facility and equipment to identify, communicate/document, and resolve issues.
3. Maintaining building systems to ensure functionality and good working conditions.
4. Ensure health and safety policies are complied with.
5. Moves machinery and equipment using winches, jacks, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
6. Organize unused equipment and inventory.
7. Assist with production needs as required i.e. pressure testing tanks, moving equipment etc.

Qualifications:

1. Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulic maintenance/troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment.

1. Basic carpentry and building repair skills.
2. Must have experience using hand tools, power tools, hoists, jacks, voltmeter, etc.
3. Must have good organizational abilities and possess strong oral and written communication skills.
4. Must be flexible as schedule may require, overtime, holidays, and weekend work.
5. Valid state driver’s license.

General Working Conditions:

1. Working in awkward positions (twisting, bending, etc.)
2. Elevated work, ladders, scissor lift, etc
3. Repetitive manual operations
4. Pushing and pulling objects in general

Physical Requirements:

1. The Maintenance Technician shall be capable of lifting 50 lbs.
2. This job requires working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
