Summary
This is a per diem - as needed position.
The Clinical Educator collaborates in meeting the education and professional development needs of clinical staff. In collaboration with Regional Education Department staff at Waldo County General Hospital and LincolnHealth, the Clinical Educator will facilitate education/professional development programs such as new Nurse Residency program. Support CNA and/or MA courses as lab instructor and/or clinical supervisor. Some periodic travel is required; must be available on a limited basis to work early morning and evening hours as determined by course schedule.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing is required. Masters Degree is preferred.
License/Certifications: Current State of Maine RN license is required.
Experience: Minimum of five years' acute care experience is required.
Demonstrated high knowledge level in nursing process and adult learning principles
Demonstrated high knowledge of critical thinking skills
Demonstrated high knowledge of Federal, State and all other regulatory agencies regarding education and practice standards for healthcare
Ability to collaborate with all healthcare disciplines
Articulates elements of professional practice and demonstrates:
Knowledge of Evidence Based Practice and Patient and Family Centered Care
Understanding of teamwork and collaboration
Effective verbal/written communication skills
Knowledge of process improvement and sound safety strategies
Competence with computer applications
