The Global Director of Cloud Network Engineering will develop, manage, and support networking products within Cloud environments. This hands-on role involves working with multi-cloud setups, software-as-a-service, and connectivity to private data centers. You will be responsible for leading a team of cloud network engineers and driving the tactical and operational aspects of Cloud-Native Networking.
SOUTHEAST MI RESIDENTS: Please note, this job is posted as remote unless the selected candidate lives within 50 miles of Dearborn, MI, then if may require hybrid onsite schedule, up to 60% of the time.
What you’ll do…
+ Cloud Networking Architecture: Develop and implement advanced cloud-native networking designs primarily within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), incorporating services such as VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Interconnect, and Cloud CDN.
+ Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers specializing in cloud-native networking solutions, ensuring the adoption of best practices and continuous professional development.
+ Containerization and Microservices: Emphasize the use of containerization technologies like Kubernetes (K8s) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for managing and scaling network infrastructure.
+ Network Automation: Drive the automation of network deployment and management processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible etc.
+ Multi- Cloud Connectivity: Design and manage multi-cloud connectivity solutions, ensuring seamless integration between GCP, Azure, AWS, and on-premises data centers.
+ Network Performance Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance, employing techniques like traffic shaping, load balancing, and network path optimization.
+ Advanced Security Implementation: Implement robust security measures including network segmentation, zero-trust architecture, service mesh (e.g., Istio), and identity-aware proxies.
+ High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Architect highly available and fault-tolerant network solutions with disaster recovery capabilities across multiple cloud environments.
+ Network Troubleshooting: Lead efforts in network troubleshooting and incident response, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques such as packet capture analysis, flow monitoring, and synthetic testing.
+ Compliance and Security Best Practices: Ensure adherence to industry standards and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) by implementing security frameworks such as NIST and CIS benchmarks.
+ Emerging Technologies: Stay updated with the latest advancements in cloud networking technologies, conducting research and proof-of-concepts (POCs) to evaluate their potential benefits.
Your key competencies, experiences & skills include…
+ Experience in designing and implementing networking for major cloud service providers (GPC, Azure, AWS)
+ Expertise in software-defined infrastructure, infrastructure as code, automation, and technology optimization
+ Extensive experience in infrastructure strategy, public and private cloud, security, server, storage, and operations
+ Experience in hybrid and multi-cloud migration strategy, planning, and implementation
+ Experience driving monitoring, SLI/SLO/SLA observability, and understanding of service contracts and delivery
+ High degree of expertise in Cloud networking – virtual networks, network security groups, cloud routers, transit gateways, VPN tunnels, cloud DNS, traffic managers, cloud & load balancers, Cloud WANs, and SDWAN
+ Experience with Kubernetes (K8s), OpenShift, container networking interfaces, and services deployment
+ Container management and deployment experience
+ Passion in driving enhanced security, segmentation, and cloud-based architectures into product/application teams
+ Highly collaborative w/ strong influencing skills, ambitious, highly resourceful, self-driven and results oriented
+ Effectively communicate, commit people to action, and convey complex information in easily understood formats

You’ll have…
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
+ 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 7 years leading large high-performance technical delivery projects.
+ 5+ years’ experience in designing and implementing networking for major cloud providers (GCP, Azure, AWS) at scale.
+ 4+ years of experience in designing, building, and managing Network services for hybrid and multi-cloud environments for large enterprises.
+ 2+ years of experience with network transformation and modernization, including building software-defined networking.

+ Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
+ Extensive expertise in software-defined infrastructure, automation, and technology optimization.
+ Strong experience in infrastructure strategy, public and private cloud, and network security.
