The University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants for two Clinical Counselor positions – a 12-month position and a 10-month position. Our University Counseling Services (https://usm.maine.edu/counseling-services/) promote emotional growth, well-being, and academic success for a diverse student body. Counseling Services provides culturally sensitive mental health and learning services, prevention programming and outreach, and training for emerging mental health professionals. Counseling and Health Services work collaboratively to provide outstanding clinical services for students.

The Clinical Counselor is responsible for providing professional counseling services for students regarding personal, social, academic, occupational, organizational, and mental health concerns. This position also has responsibility for providing psychological consultation to faculty, administrative staff, students, and families. Although this position is mainly clinical, some general outreach work is expected. A senior-level staff member will provide clinical supervision.

Both positions will be based primarily on the Gorham Campus but may provide services on all three campuses and via teletherapy.

Qualifications:

+ Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work.

+ Clinical experience in a variety of mental health settings, including college counseling centers preferred.

License/Certifications:

+ Licensure or license eligible at Master’s level (LCPC, LCSW).
