The opportunity: The Director of Actuarial Pricing will provide business and financial analysis to support profit and growth objectives. Primary focus will be on the Medical Stop-Loss products and support other initiatives within the Health & Risk Solutions business.
How you will contribute:
Develop and enhance rate study methodologies
Coordinate implementation of pricing changes
Provide ongoing consultation of case level sales and renewal opportunities
Provide sign-off on internal actuarial and finance controls
Evaluate, monitor, and report actuarial operating performance, communicating to senior management and employees
Manage and evolve the creation of detailed actuarial reports and models in support of the business
Partner with Health & Risk Solutions Business Analytics team to innovate pricing and risk selection parameters
Keep pricing responsive to market trends by actively engaging product management to keep products positioned in the market and contributing to product development initiatives
Evaluate and recommend processes to improve quality and efficiency of business
Provide leadership and direction to team, develop and monitor performance of team members
What you will bring with you:
Ability to work with a diverse range of people
Thorough knowledge of actuarial and risk management processes and a complete understanding of factors that influence insurance profitability
Strong leadership abilities to inspire and coach employees. This includes recruiting, selecting, training, motivating, and developing employees
Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal partners
Ability to create and communicate strategic direction in the assigned actuarial operating area.
Required Education and Experience:
8+ years of Actuarial experience required, within Stop Loss, Healthcare or insurance industry preferred but not required
Proven leadership and management experience is required
FSA preferred, will consider career level ASA
Bachelor's in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other fields requiring rigorous mathematics and analysis
Active status in the Society of Actuaries and American Academy of Actuaries
