JOB SUMMARY

ABOUT THE ROLE:

MHUB is Marriott’s integrated workforce management platform that supports and enhances the associate experience throughout the talent lifecycle. Core HR and Security serve as the nucleus powering our workforce platform (Oracle HCM), where associate data, organizational values e.g., (Departments, job codes, actions), security roles, global localizations, and direct access / self-service reside. The Senior Director of Core HR & Security is a key member of the HR Technology team who contributes a critical level of specialized knowledge, skill, and consultative leadership to the HR organization. Specifically, this role owns the Core HR & Security strategic technology roadmap. This responsibilities for this product include security governance and methodologies, role definition, and upstream and downstream dependencies with critical impacts to enterprise access; develop cross-workstream solutions that meet evolving global business needs; and identify opportunities to further expand mHUB capabilities. This role will own the relationship with critical mHUB solutions vendors and must be adept at tapping diverse sources of information, identifying opportunities, anticipating challenges, and devising and executing strategies to deliver against current and future HR Technology priorities globally. The Sr. Director will play a key role leading effort to identify, develop, and implement appropriate Core HR & Security transactional tools and processes across the company, in alignment with COE workstreams, and in collaboration and coordination with other key stakeholder groups and vendor partners.

Key Responsibilities Include:

+ Integrated solution and enhancement development across HR COEs, disciplines, and continents

+ Solution development to expand mHUB capabilities, such as manager direct access, security simplification, payroll, and benefit expansion based on current and forward-looking HR process requirements.

+ Technology thought leadership, including subject matter expertise of current portfolio of HR technology, but also with deep understanding of current and future industry trends.

Core Work Activities

+ Understand how our business and technology needs are evolving and provide insights and recommendations as you partner with key stakeholders to identify short-term solves, bridge strategies, and long-term visions for HR Core and Security.

+ Gather and detail product requirements from stakeholders across the organization to inform HR Core and Security roadmap items; evaluate technical complexity of requirements to appropriately prioritize work and manage expectations cross-functionally.

+ Develop and lead the HR Core and Security technology roadmap and backlog to implement specific product capabilities, ensuring critical requirements are identified, the best solutions for the end user are delivered every time, and alignment with broader HR group and portfolio objectives.

+ Partner with Infrastructure Delivery, Enterprise Architecture & Shared Platforms, and Security to effectively prioritize infrastructure updates, bug fixes/defects, and technical debt/refactoring in your product backlog.

+ Advocate for the end user by developing a deep understanding of their needs through feedback and research.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional team members to drive value and develop customer friendly features and enhancements.

+ In partnership with Global Technology, provide direction for the technology development, including cost estimation, budget management, scope and delivery strategy definition, and establish milestones/schedules.

+ Work with Sr. Business Analysts to guide them in writing user stories and acceptance test criteria for features and detailed functional & nonfunctional requirements for the engineering teams.

+ Partner closely with solution architects and software engineers in Enterprise Architecture and Shared Platforms to determine best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable implementation schedule.

+ Plan delivery, integration & test, and post-launch support for all the elements required in product delivery and operation working with applicable teams.

+ Owns the quality and overall product performance, leading user testing and establishing KPI monitoring with QA partners.

+ Manage project/scrum teams based upon roadmap(s). Meet regularly with the team(s) to gather work statuses, discuss obstacles, provide advice, guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback to ensure deliverables are met timely.

+ Collaborate across teams, and creatively solve problems to constructively balance priorities and overcome or remove blockers required to successfully deliver a new product or feature to meet the needs of end users.

+ Maintains the right level of demand management and capacity planning for the product as the owner of its KPIs inclusive of business and financial metrics and performance.

+ Contribute to end user support artifacts/information/collateral development including feature/capability descriptions, end user business value stories, etc.

+ Lead the design and configuration approach for solutioning of requests involving Core HR & Security data infrastructure changes (tables, departments, job codes, organizational hierarchy, roles, permissions, notifications, etc.), ensuring the right teams are involved and always considering upstream and downstream impacts to data integrity and operational efficiency.

+ Partner with key stakeholders in the continents, disciplines, HR Delivery, and COEs to understand business needs and facilitate functional and technical solution development, always considering upstream and downstream impacts to data integrity and operational efficiency with keen focus on security access, reporting and analytics.

+ Working closely with HR Delivery, Global Technology, and COEs, identify creative solutions to business requirements for system integrations, analyze the strengths and weaknesses of alternatives, and provide recommendations to HR leadership.

+ Contribute to the ongoing evolution and execution of mHUB, providing recommendations on the adoption and expansion of associate and manager direct access and engagement. Identify opportunities to evolve current technology functionality and global direct access capability to drive the talent experience. Participate in technical evaluation process when assessing additions or changes to defined technology roadmap and influences approaches for adoption and deployment.

+ Partner closely with external vendors to ensure vendor teams are developing solutions and enhancements that meet Marriott’s needs, timeline, and operating environment.

+ Partner with COEs and business leaders to influence HCM product direction and own the roadmap related to Core HR and global functionality.

+ Represents Marriott well to the external community and participates in technical user groups to help shape the product and services to best support Marriott’s current and future needs.

+ Partners with customers to develop and execute business vision and strategic plan.

+ Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to identify, recommend, and implement improvements to systems and processes. Ensures compliance with existing processes and standards as well as data integrity and internal audit standards.

+ Provide input on Marriott’s longer-term strategic HR technology roadmap, identifying and assisting with opportunities to drive efficiencies and automate processes with quantifiable impact.
