As we embark on the next stage of our corporate journey, our global tax team of 8 (based in the UK, US, Canada and Romania) will be pivotal in supporting the business through a period of immense change. Clearlake Capital are known for their buy-and-build software investment strategy, so alongside our existing “business as usual” role, legal entity rationalization and tax projects, the tax team will support the business in integrating new acquisitions.
In line with Cornerstone’s vision for the future of work, this role is flexible on location, remote or in an office in certain countries.
This position within the Tax team and will report directly to the VP Tax, Treasury and Insurance. This candidate will be a key contributor to many departmental goals and objectives and manage multiple projects including acquisitions and complex transactions. This person will be responsible for guiding tax related functions such as ensuring the Company is in compliance with Federal, State and International tax laws, preparation of GAAP reporting under ASC 740 and FIN 48, and research and analysis of tax issues. This person will be asked to communicate effectively with all management teams, and stay current with corporate tax best practices and changing tax laws.

In this role you will…
+ Responsible for financial reporting and domestic compliance for U.S. tax matters including Subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, foreign tax credits and repatriation of foreign earnings
+ Support M&A projects, including tax due diligence, review of tax sections in acquisition agreements, and post-acquisition integration/compliance
+ Be the US tax lead for legal entity rationalization
+ Review global income tax provisions for multiple entities and jurisdictions and deferred tax asset/liability calculations in accordance with ASC 740 and US GAAP
+ Be involved in the international tax planning process including business expansion activities and transfer pricing strategies
+ Manage the US tax team
+ Oversight of audits of federal and state income tax as well as state and local non-income tax filings including coordination with third party vendors
+ Advise management of the impact of new tax laws and proposed legislation
+ Tax research and plan to minimize tax burden, while considering various business scenarios, working on projects to maintain and reduce the Company’s effective tax rate and taxes paid
+ Liaise with cross functional business leaders on tax impacts to departments.
You’ve got what it takes if you have…
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
+ 10+ years of corporate tax experience with a US focus, international an asset
+ Desire to learn and grow
+ Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 and US GAAP
+ Strong leadership, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to work independently and be a team player
+ Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects, especially long term
+ Able to manage multiple complex projects and deliver in a timely manner
+ Experience working in a team under pressure to meet deadlines
+ Experience mentoring and training more junior level team members
+ Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
+ Consideration for privacy and security obligations
+ Experience in Excel, Word and tax research software
