Job Description
The Cornerstone Education team (EDU) is seeking an industry leader, influencer and experienced practitioner skilled in the design and deployment of highly effective global training programs. Further, we’re seeking a Learning Innovator who is not only adept in revolutionary uses of technology-particularly AI and its variations-but a practitioner and realist who can transform ideas into operational success. This also includes experiences using data-driven and evidence-based design, clarity on practical uses of skill taxonomies and ontologies, and leveraging our own Cornerstone technologies as a preferred practice.
Our EDU team mantra-especially working as the leader in Talent and Learning systems-is to be the L&D Exemplar guiding our customers and partners and serving as a Beacon for our industry. The VP, Global Learning Strategy and Innovation will report directly to the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) and be a key leader within Cornerstone’s senior leadership team, and a member of our EDU Learning Council.
The role is responsible for the development of our centralized global learning functions or Centers of Expertise (CoE) and supporting strategic alignment across our various learning teams including Field and Services Enablement, Leadership and Management development, Cornerstone University for customer education and related functional learning teams. You are the EDU team’s primary guide and architect for Cornerstone Education’s strategic and learning innovation advances.
This role will lead diverse CoE teams and together with the CLO and Learning Council will directly influence the best organizational approaches to enable Cornerstone and our customers’ success.
Key Responsibilities
Cornerstone EDU Strategy:
+ Unite strategy, processes, activities and programs across all learning teams, regardless of internal or external training charter, to maximise program scale, consistency and impact
+ Provide support to the functional learning teams through the COEs:
+ Providing expert and innovative approaches in the zone of specialisation; e.g. learning design, learning analytics etc.
+ Building programs/resources that can be leveraged across teams
+ This all supports scale, production efficiency, and overall increasing of every team deploying at the same level of standard
+ Collaborate with the EDU team’s Change Management Lead to drive program deployment and adoption across learner groups globally
COE Strategy and Program Design:
+ Mature and lead the global Center of Expertise (COE) teams, including but not limited to the following functions:
+ Learning Analytics and Insights
+ Skills programming
+ Generative AI and broader AI approaches
+ Learning Design
+ Learning Operations including budget, marketing and communications
+ Learning technologies
+ Lead teams of specialists with expertise in specific learning disciplines, who employ innovative approaches in their work
+ Define success measures for all CoEs with an ongoing focus on internal and external customer impact and ensuring the highest gained value from our Cornerstone technologies
+ Build and maintain a system of learning SLAs, outcome and impact measurements by function and overall division, and design ongoing systems for utilisation of insights to evolve programs
Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration:
+ Partner closely with non-EDU teams in Product Management, Marketing, People etc. who share similar objectives, yet lacking uniform clarity or guidance to support training efforts; I.E.. unite common yet disparate efforts
+ Develop and implement processes with various teams to enhance operating models, streamline workflows, and optimize resource allocation
+ Leverage and influence key Education department metrics with our People team’s metrics to ensure sound, evidence-based decisions, identify areas of improvement, and recommend solutions to enhance performance
+ Organize and facilitate processes and operating rhythms of strategic initiatives including leadership meetings, all hands, weekly updates, and year-end business planning for strategic goal setting
Project and Program Management:
+ Lead the EDU Strategy and Innovation objectives, operational planning and deployment development and deliverables for key learning projects/taskforces
+ Define project objectives, create project plans, establish timelines, and track progress towards deliverables
+ Provide guidance and support to various EDU project teams, ensuring successful completion of initiatives
+ Work across the Cornerstone enterprise to maintain rigor and review of varied project success against budget and goals, regularly addressing risks, issues, and decisions with the CLO and EDU Learning Council
Communication and Relationship Management
+ Serve as a representative of the EDU team regarding ongoing communications with internal/external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and effective communication
+ Act as a trusted advisor to the CLO and EDU Learning Council, offering insights, recommendations, and guidance on department matters
+ Develop written communication and presentation materials on behalf of the CLO, tailoring messages according to the audience (e.g., board/executive-level, team-level, public-facing, etc.)
Guide our Learning Council:
+ Lead and facilitate needs supporting our Learning Council, which includes the Lead or Head of each training function and adjunct members
+ Serve as a central point of contact for the EDU Learning Council to address critical questions and issues impacting department success, and ensure broad alignment across roles and responsibilities-particularly associated with emerging EDU initiatives and external thought leadership
+ Ensure all EDU teams’ strategic approaches (programs, insights, operational deployments…) are united where appropriate
+ Broker and influence decisions for the holistic betterment of the EDU function and Cornerstone

Experience
+ 12+ years’ leadership experience of effective L&D strategic programming and team management
+ Solid proficiency and experience in problem identification and validation, aligning operational plans with both business and learning solutions, and consistent deployment of highly innovative learning approaches
+ Solid proficiency in crafting scalable, measurable and learner-centric programs in a global setting
+ Strong consultative mindset complementing keen internal stakeholder and sponsor management
+ Work experience in virtual/remote teams
