Overview

This position serves as the Maine CDC’s Maternal, Infant and Fetal Mortality Review (MFIMR) Panel Coordinator by coordinating and facilitating the Panel’s quarterly meetings and providing case summaries of all deaths to the Panel. More information on the review panel and coordinator can be found through the following link: https://legislature.maine.gov/legis/statutes/22/title22sec261.html Knowledge, Skills and Certifications Specific qualifications needed to perform the job including, necessary licenses, knowledge, skills, education, experience, training, and technical skills. · Be a registered or licensed nurse · Experience in facilitating meetings. · Attention to detail, professionalism, cultural sensitivity and the ability to coordinate with multiple care partners. · Ability to work independently and as a member a team. · Excellent oral and written communication skills.

+ Excellent presentation and reporting skills

+ The ability to establish and maintain effective working internal relationships with staff and relationships with a diverse group of internal and external partners.

+ Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

Duties and Deliverable Specific duties required of the resource, as well as any expected deliverables, including necessary travel expectations. Follow the defined review criteria outlined in 22 MRS §261, you will conduct a review of the deaths of all women during pregnancy or within one year of giving birth, the majority of cases in which a fetal death occurs after 28 weeks of gestation and the majority of deaths of infants under one year of age, with selection of cases of infant death based on the need to review particular causes of death or the need to obtain a representative sample of all deaths. · Coordinating and facilitating the panel’s quarterly meetings and providing case summations. o Working closely with the Maternal and Child Health Epi Team to Prepare the summation. o Prepare an annual report of the findings · Access medical records as defined in the statute when reviewing death cases. · Oversee voluntary interviews with parties that may have relevant information for a preliminary review pursuant to the statute. · Prepare a confidential de-identified review summary or abstract of information regarding each case. · Work closely with the Maternal and Child Health Epidemiologists to: o Prepare a summary and abstract of relevant trends in deaths of the population of adults receiving services for comparison to cases reviewed by the Panel. o Establish and maintain a state mortality database. o Prepare an annual report for the Legislature. Schedule Summary of work schedule, including normal working hours, on-call expectations, allowed time off (which is non-billable), ability to work remote. This position is M-F 8-5 at the Augusta, ME DHHS Location There is an option to work remote up to 3 days per week. Pay Rate: $31.18 / hour, 40 hours / week, 2 year contract - Accrued PTO - 13 paid state holidays paid annually, depending on when the assignment begins.
