Job Description

The role of the IT Business Systems Analyst (BSA) provides partnering relationships as an intermediary between the business community and the technical community. They interface with IT project teams and business operations to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design from which applications and solutions are developed. The Business Systems Analyst is an active thought partner and solution visionary that shapes usage of technology within the business community. This position will also be responsible for production support of enterprise applications and directly engage with vendor resources for escalation.

Job Responsibilities
Partner with business and technology resources to elicit, analyze, document, and translate business requirements into solution design documents, technical specifications, and test plans.
Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and assist customers with addressing unmet business needs.
Work with internal stakeholders to understand and logically document current and future processes and use cases, identifying areas for improvement.
Assist business partners in conducting user acceptance testing.
Develop documentation for solutions and operation procedures (e.g. manuals, knowledge base articles etc).
Support assigned enterprise applications and environments to resolve escalated end-user issues/problems.
Assess the impact of application patches and changes on assigned systems through test scripts and cases.
Maintain project work plans related to specific tasks assigned and meet deliverable schedules.
Coordinate with those who manage project resources to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Manage competing priorities, making sound business decisions based on overall goals and objectives.
Create compelling business cases with accurate value, cost, and effort estimations.
Form strong partner relationships across functions while/by projecting a professional image.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
3-5 years of direct work experience in business analysis disciplines, business process system analysis, and design.
International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) or similar certifications are highly desirable.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborate closely with peers and partners, obtain results, and overcome challenges.
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, timelines, and changing business requirements while maintaining forward momentum.
Demonstrated experience in writing solution and software requirements and test specifications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the capacity to understand complex business needs and interdependencies and translate them into application requirements and functionality.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
Detail-oriented, organized, strong work ethic, a "can do" attitude, and the aptitude to learn and grow.
Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, e.g. Agile, RUP, and Waterfall.
Understanding of UI/UX, web application design, SQL database structure and queries, API principles, and related concepts.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Oracle Discoverer, or other report-writing tools desired.
Expertise in Microsoft M365, exposure to Power Platform a plus.
Experience working with ERP, finance, and HR software.
