The Role: Critical Response Nurse (RN) -
The Critical Response Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to hospice patients using the nursing process by applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. May also provide occasional direct patient care to home health patients.

+ This position requires you to be on call from 4:30 pm to 8:00 am. One week you will work Monday through Thursday, and the following week you will work Tuesday through Friday. The pay would be your standard hourly pay for 40 hours per week.
+ Plans, implements and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
+ Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
+ Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
+ Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
+ Operates a motor vehicle to conduct MaineGeneral Health business.
+ Maine state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider preferred on hire.
+ Valid Maine state driver’s license with acceptable driving record as defined by MGH policy required.
+ Department of Transportation Annual Motor Vehicle Record Check – MaineGeneral Health required.
+ Maine Background Criminal Check – Annual – MaineGeneral Health required.
+ At least one year of hospice experience is preferred.
