Recovery Coach-Outpatient Counseling

Summary

 

Position Summary

Clinician assumes primary responsibility for fulfilling the requirements of the contract held by MCH Addiction Resource Center with Lincoln and Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Offices. This includes providing outreach counseling services to persons incarcerated at Two Bridges Jail as well as for persons released from the jail who have substance abuse problems. Outreach includes facilitation of self-help and support groups, individual consultation, and referral for ARC IOP and other recovery services. Recovery coaching is designed to reduce recidivism and help clients achieve long-term recovery by making services available in communities where clients reside. Services will be provided at the locations specified by the contract

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Degree or training in counseling, social work, case management, human services, and/or mental health treatment preferred

License/Certifications: Eligibility for Maine certification/ licensure in alcohol and drug counseling preferred.

Experience: Previous work experience in counseling, community collaboration related to substance use issues.

Two years of sobriety if in recovery at time of hire.
