Chemours is seeking a Hydrogen Economy Venture Market Development Manager North America to join our growing Chemours Hydrogen Economy Venture team in the Advanced Performance Materials business unit. This position will be available at the Chemours Wilmington Offices , Wilmington, DE and report directly to the Global Senior Program Director, Chemours Hydrogen Venture .
Market Development Manager (MDM) for Chemours Hydrogen Economy Venture is a key position on the Venture commercial Team. Market Development Manager will focus on the PEM water electrolysis market. MDM will build and nurture relationships with key value chain players and hold a comprehensive knowledge of the North American Hydrogen market with specific focus on water electrolysis using PEM technology. Working together with other functions (technology, marketing, sales, product management etc.) Market Development Manager will drive growth and new product qualification programs at key Venture customers and downstream players, aligned with the strategy, and ensure roadblocks are quickly identified and resolved.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Value Chain Engagement
Objective: Seamlessly implement and enhance the value chain engagement strategy
+ Build stakeholder analysis, identify key decision makers and build strong relationships at different levels of key venture customers and downstream value chain players
+ Actively engage key stakeholders, effectively communicate Chemours value proposition to venture customers and stakeholders
+ Develop and execute mid- and long-term account strategy for strategic customers and value chain players
+ Create and execute account plans for key accounts
+ Collaborate with Marketing to map and keep up-to-date value chain and stakeholder maps
Execute New Product Development (NPD) programs at key accounts
Objective: Increase success rate of New Product Development programs at target accounts
+ Manage Opportunity Pipeline at target customers: identify and drive execution of growth opportunities at target accounts, apply SFDC Opportunity Management and Strategic Selling with Perspective (Bluesheet) methodology
+ Execute new product qualification programs at target customers in partnership with Marketing, Application Development and R&D teams
+ Continuously collect customer CTQs and gain important insights from customers and downstream players on market trends, unmet market needs, evolving technologies, key players and competition and update the marketing, R&D and product teams on these dynamics as inputs into the multi-generational product/technology roadmap and timing.
Business Intelligence
Objective: Provide business intelligence into Venture Team
+ Uncover and share market trends
+ Gain and share competitive intelligence to enhance our Venture Strategy, including IP strategy
+ Provide detailed mid and long term forecasts by customer based on solid assumptions
The following is required for this role:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Chemistry /Electro-chemistry/ Business (Master’s degree a plus)
+ 5-7 years of experience in commercial customer-facing roles (e.g. sales, business development)
+ Strong track record of building strong customer relationships, negotiating and concluding complex deals and successful execution of account strategies
+ Strong negotiation and communication skills
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic fast-paced environment
The following is preferred for this role:
+ Thorough knowledge of English as a working language, other language capabilities – a bonus
+ Experience in or good knowledge of the Hydrogen industry
+ Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of Salesforce.com a bonus
+ Compliance with safety guidelines, practices, business ethics and internal control processes
