Job Description
Mike Sasner, Senior Research Scientist in the MODEL-AD lab, is seeking a student intern to join the lab. The group develops and characterizes novel mouse models for Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases. Over the course of 8-10 weeks, the internship will focus on generating new models for the MODEL-AD program, with other ongoing projects funded by the National Institute of Aging, the Alzheimer's Association, and the International Neuroimmune Consortium.

Key Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for executing a defined project to analyze mouse models expressing humanized APOE variants. In addition, they will help as needed in the lab with other ongoing projects.
Immunohistochemistry, including tissue sectioning, staining, image analysis
Western blots
Perform mouse behavioral experiments
Aide with tissue harvests
Desired Qualifications

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university program.
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience or Biology
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with databases is a plus.
Experience in a professional setting requiring interactions with a diverse range of personnel.
Experience working effectively in a fast-paced team environment in high volume, tight deadline conditions.
Self-motivation, proactivity, dedication, and drive to succeed and contribute to team success.
Strong interpersonal, professional, and relationship-building skills and ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all situations to effectively work with a diverse workforce.
