What You’ll Be Doing:
Who You’ll Be Working With: Our Technology team at Evolent is looking for a Senior Vice President to guide our Application Engineering teams overseeing the integration, scaling, and evolution of the technology products they manage.
What You’ll Be Doing: This position will be accountable for leading engineering teams to deliver features on time, at a high level of quality, and with a focus on continuous improvement. You will be coaching your teams on industry best practices in methodologies such as agile project management, DevOps, high-availability, and effective collaboration as you guide their career growth here at Evolent. The core duties include:
+ Managing and mentoring development team leadership as you foster an inclusive and appealing culture
+ Communicating with technical and non-technical audiences
+ Collaborating with talent management to recruit, cultivate, and retain high quality talent on your teams
+ Customizing and updating existing delivery processes – facilitating consistency in the Software Development Lifecycle in alignment with Product Management, InfoSec, and IT across Evolent
+ Guiding and coaching development team management on continuous improvement of their Scrum Teams use of Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers
+ Establishing and maintaining an effective balance of talent between FTEs and contracted resources and coordinating activities between these two groups
+ Developing and managing against metrics to ensure successful delivery and predictability of development operations and quality standards
+ Contributing to the Technology Leadership team in guiding our processes to ensure continuous improvement and effective performance across functions
+ Coordinating key engineering team stakeholders to ensure the architectural vision is clear, sound, and properly prioritized for continuous improvement
+ Engaging with other Business and Product stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on Product Backlog priorities
+ Coordinating with Finance and Executive Leadership to effectively manage resources against budget
Preferred Experience We Look For:
+ Bachelor’s degree in software engineering related fields of study and 6 years of experience in agile product development team management
+ Effective written and spoken communication skills with proven experience facilitating meetings, process improvement efforts and decisions at multiple levels of an organization
+ At least 4 years managing other people managers
+ Proven track record of driving teams to on-time delivery of requirements
+ Working industry knowledge in Health IT
+ Strong project management discipline
+ An experienced leader who can identify, recruit, motivate, lead and retain exceptional engineering talent to create high-performing and loyal teams
+ Respected leader of engineers leveraging both value-based leadership and servant leadership
+ Experience managing a team of 100+ engineers in a growing, scaling environment across multiple geographies
+ Has the skill, experience and ability to deliver the desired engineering team results while leading through influence
+ Possesses the technical credibility to gain the trust of the engineering team with various skillsets (front end, backend, data and dev ops)
+ Has experience building algorithmic, data driven and secure applications that provide an excellent user experience
+ Values openness, honesty and tact; conducts hard conversations to achieve favorable outcomes
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills including exceptional listening
Finishing Touches:
+ Healthcare experience with US insurance processes is preferred.
+ Experience with Agile project management and collaboration tooling such as Jira and Confluence.
+ Capable in reviewing and overseeing decision making on software architecture concepts.
+ Experience working with financial accounting teams on budget planning and software capitalization procedures.
+ Demonstrated track record scaling teams in high-growth environments
Technical Requirements:
We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.
