Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for an Entry Level Electrical Engineer to provide engineering design and support for hydroelectric and fish passage projects in Pittsfield, ME. Who You Are
Knowledgeable: An Electrical Engineer with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, who is looking to obtain, or already possesses, EIT designation and ability to meet requirements for PE as soon as possible. Possess 0-3 years of experience in electrical engineering, with design experience with hydroelectric facilities preferred. Experience and/or personal interest in Power System, SCADA Controls and Automation design is an additional plus.
Technically Focused: Typical duties include electrical design tasks and analysis under the direction of mid- and senior level staff. This position involves work on industrial and utility electrical projects, especially concerning medium and low-voltage generation systems, switchgear, power transformers, power distribution cables and equipment, protective relaying, automation, and controls. The successful candidate will be part of a team of technical professionals working on various hydro and other renewable energy projects in the U.S. Project teams will be comprised of multidisciplinary staff members and will be mentored by senior staff in the fields of hydroelectric and fish passage facilities design while incorporating the skills of structural, civil, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
Relationship-focused: Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying engineering skills from analysis and design throughout the life cycle of the project. The candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. An interest in conducting presentations and preparing written reports is a plus.

Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States and able to acquire authorization to work in Canada
Must be willing to travel and possess a valid driver's license
