Job Description

Responsible for building new product and service businesses from the ground up. Procures, analyzes, and synthesizes market information from internal and external resources into new product concept proposals aligned with a broader product strategy. Such proposals will include but not be limited to product positioning, voice-of-customer feedback, competitive landscape, pricing strategy, IP strategy, market opportunity valuations, development timelines and investment requirements. Develops and solicits investment for new product concepts, ensures development efforts remain focused and leads successful commercial launch and post-launch business through close alignment with internal stakeholders. Establishes the business infrastructure for a successful continuing operation and drives ongoing product strategy, including sales and marketing plans.

The salary range is $87,676 - $150,707 Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities:

Procures, analyzes, and synthesizes market information from internal and external resources into product concepts aligned with a broader product strategy. Elements must include:
Clear product strategy including but not limited to market segmentation and maturity assessment, unmet needs matrix, product positioning statement, competitive landscape and anticipated response, strategic fit, delivery channel, and voice-of-customer feedback.
Clear market opportunity assessment including TAM/SAM/SOM analysis, pricing strategy, and expected returns.

Leads go-to-market strategy for a new business area via a clear sales and marketing plan:
Continued product concept development including but not limited to voice-of-customer validation, establishment of key metrics for success, and pricing structure.
Continued sales and marketing plan development including but not limited to MarComm plan, collateral, scientific publications and presentations, and internal training.
Provides regular progress reporting during development efforts, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure broad alignment in support of successful commercial launches.

Qualifications:
Master's required, PhD preferred
Five + years' experience in product management or strategic marketing of new products with documented proficiency in key competencies associated with the role.
Demonstrated successful experience in formulating, communicating, and implementing complex plans and creative problem-solving as needed to launch and build products and services
Excellent initiative and organizational skills to prioritize complex tasks, projects, and workflow, and use independent judgment to make decisions regarding operations and deadlines
Interpersonal relationship skills sufficient to effectively lead others, to develop consensus among those holding disparate opinions and to work effectively with individuals and groups made up of people representing a diversity of levels and degrees of sophistication
Demonstrated ability to be a positive team player across diverse internal and external organizations
Ability to support important decisions carrying large financial consequences, often under some pressure and tight time deadlines
Availability to travel to Bar Harbor, ME headquarters for 1 week every 6 weeks
Additional travel up to 20%
