Job Description

The Maine Community College System is seeking an Apprenticeship Navigator.  This full-time position serves as the point person for system-level apprentice activity, responds to requests for apprenticeship related instructional services, creates apprenticeship content, and connects MCCS workforce learners to available apprentice opportunities that supplement their current programming.  The Apprenticeship Navigator works in partnership with the Chief Workforce Development Officer, System Workforce staff, and in conjunction with Maine’s community colleges.  This new position creates connectivity to workforce projects across the 7-campus system to replicate successful projects with a focus on expanding apprenticeship opportunities. The Apprenticeship Navigator works with Career and Technical Education (CTE) schools to connect students with appropriate apprenticeship programming.  The position also supports the creation and embedding of microcredentials (digital badges) that address and are related to understanding diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

The Apprenticeship Navigator will work closely with industry associations, employers, educational institutions, and social service organizations.  These partnerships will enable the MCCS Workforce Training Office to support young adults who did not enroll in college after high school, New Mainers, displaced workers, adults in recovery, and those recently released from incarceration. This position may be eligible for a mutually agreed upon hybrid work schedule which may be subject to change.
