Postdoctoral Associate - The Biology of Aging Hematopoiesis

A postdoctoral associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jennifer Trowbridge at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine, to perform basic and translational research investigating the biological mechanisms that cause, and may be targeted to prevent, functional decline of blood and immune systems during aging. This work may include studies of aging hematopoietic stem cells as well as alterations in the bone marrow microenvironment with aging. The Trowbridge Lab offers a teamwork environment including collaborative opportunities with other leading laboratories in this field, nationally and internationally. Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to plan, develop, execute, and analyze an independent research project.

Qualifications
M.D. or Ph.D. in biological or related sciences is required.
Strong training background in molecular biology and cell biology is preferred.
Other areas of experience/training that would be valuable include stem cell biology, aging, hematopoiesis, immunology, or developmental biology.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
Self-motivated and career-oriented individual preferred;
Minimum of one 1st author paper from graduate work.
