Position Summary
Maine Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a Referral Navigator to provide rapid completion of the referral process so that clients referred to services can begin treatment quickly and those referring clients will have a highly satisfying experience.
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, benefit eligible role. This is a remote position, based out of the Portland Outpatient Clinic. Candidates must live in Maine or within a reasonable commuting distance, as there may be times you will need to report in person, including new hire orientation.
Maine Behavioral Healthcare provides an array of services at our outpatient practices for adults, adolescents and children challenged with mental health, developmental disorders, co-occurring and/or substance use issues. Specifically, our Portland location provides these Adult Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Case Management and Behavioral Health Homes, Counseling, and Psychiatry.
The Referral Navigator will ensure that customer service practices are ethical, culturally-competent, and respectful of diversity and inclusion, welcoming and geared to satisfaction and will be compliant with regulatory, accreditation, contract and best practice standards.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a specialization in psychology, behavioral health, social work, special education, counseling, rehabilitation, nursing or closely related field is required OR a MHRT/C with at least 3 years' experience providing mental health services.
License/Certifications: N/A
Experience: See "Education." 1+ year of experience in the same areas of specialization. Prior experience with clinical methods and techniques used in supportive counseling as related to mental health and/or substance abuse issues is preferred. Prior experience with referral management is preferred.
Excellent computer skills are required: Microsoft Word, Excel and use of electronic consumer record software
