Summary

Position Summary
The nurse director position is a key leadership and management position within the organization. The primary area of responsibility is to ensure optimal patient/family outcomes by maintaining a caring and healing environment. The nurse director provides direction for the overall growth and development of the department incorporating the objectives, policies and procedures of the nursing department and the organization. The director is responsible for effective leadership, assuring clinical excellence, promoting teamwork and collaboration, supporting professional development and managing the business of their respective units.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing or higher degree and national specialty nursing certification is required
License/Certifications: Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Maine
