Summary


Position Summary

Under general supervision and in accordance with established protocols, administers neuropsychological and psychological tests to both MMC inpatients and MMP outpatients. Work requires discretion, initiative and strong communication skills.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Knowledge of behavioral psychology, standard psychological testing procedures, assessment, statistics and human behavior usually acquired through the attainment of a bachelor's degree in psychology or closely related field. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field providing educational support for working with patients with neurocognitive and behavioral disorders.

License/Certifications: Certification by the Board of Certified Psychometrists as a Certified Specialist in Psychometry at hire or within 5 years of hire.

Experience: 2 years of experience administering and scoring neuropsychological tests according to standardized procedures is desired, butnot required.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, supervisors, physicians and other members of the health care team.

A high level of interpersonal skills in order to gain the cooperation of difficult patients when administering tests.

Strong analytical and observation skills in order to assess and interpret patient behaviors during testing.
