Job Description:

At Regions, the Enterprise Cloud Security Engineer builds and maintains operational solutions across a variety of Cloud and related platforms within the enterprise. The engineer at this level may be responsible for leading projects and initiatives and may assist with those highly technical in nature.

Primary Responsibilities

+ Implements Cloud Security initiatives focusing on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)

+ Contributes to initial Identify and Access Management (IAM) framework buildouts and supporting tool sets

+ Produces security requirements and related playbooks

+ Seeks opportunities to replace manual processes with automation

+ Participate in knowledge sharing, contributing to new ideas and recommendations for improvements

+ Maintains knowledge of trends and critical events in the industry and collaborates with senior management to implement changes where necessary

+ Offers advice and guidance to junior engineers, assisting in the development of necessary knowledge and skill set

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

+ High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of experience in a Security Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Security Developer, or similar role

+ Experience in a cloud native role

Preferences

+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field(s)

+ Experience with AWS (e.g. KMS, Lambda, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, EC2, S3, Amazon RDS)

+ Experience with Azure services (e.g. Key Vault, Blob Storage, Azure Backup, Monitor, ATA, Cloud Application Security)

+ Experience delivering security solutions for container-based workloads and supporting CI/CD systems

+ Experience with Python codebases (e.g. AWS CLI, Boto3 SDK, Bash, Powershell)

Skills and Competencies

+ Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities and meet deadlines

+ Knowledge of AWS Identity & Access Management (IAM) capabilities

+ Knowledge of cloud native systems (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, EKS, ECS)

+ Knowledge of common web technologies, cloud technologies, enterprise, and network architecture

+ Knowledge of data protection controls

+ Knowledge of IP networking and application-layer protocols (e.g. DNS, HTTP, SSH, SMTP, LDAP)

+ Knowledge of or demonstrated experience with defense in depth, trust levels, privileges, and permissions

+ Knowledge of Terraform and Vault multi-cloud tools

+ Strong ability to adapt and apply information to new scenarios and technologies

+ Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills

+ Understanding of modern, evolving security tools and controls

This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience
