SMX is seeking an information extraction data scientist to execute and automate data extraction from different document formats.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Develop customized data extraction and collation processes
+ Automate data extraction processes as dictated by project requirements
+ Create, transfer, and maintain compiled and uncompiled source code, to include all versions, maintenance updates and patches
+ Develop quality assurance and risk assessment tools for data extraction and storage; monitor data integrity and perform quality checks
+ Establish data archival and retrieval processes
+ Scope, define, and plan for new and emerging data extraction requests
+ Work with stakeholders to define future tools, processes and approaches
+ Develop software to implement data science approaches
+ Integrate data extraction solutions to an existing Django application
+ Serve as alternate to lead Software and Data Engineer
Required Skills
+ Required clearance: Top Secret
+ Successful candidate will be a self-starter with intellectual flexibility, a collaborative and client focused work ethic, strong communication skills, and strong technical skills
+ Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Python
+ Extensive experience with data mining techniques
+ Proficiency with software development
+ Familiarity with Django
+ Familiarity with Data Modeling in Django
+ Ability to articulate complex technical issues to a wide range of audiences
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
+ Good knowledge of testing and quality assurance for new development of data extraction procedures
+ Ability to perform data quality checks and identify and analyze data anomalies / issues
Required Experience & Education
+ Bachelor’s or degree in engineering, computer science, IT discipline and/or management information systems, or equivalent years of relevant experience
+ Experience proposing new ideas for research and development to stakeholders
+ Experience with information extraction problems
+ Experience with software engineering processes, techniques, and tools
+ Experience writing and producing technical documents
+ Experience demonstrating technical solutions to end-users
