Business Banking Credit Liaison

Job Description

The Business Banking Credit Liaison is responsible for supporting Retail lenders with business loans, deposits and agency guarantee questions and paperwork completion. Supporting Retail lenders with loan application systems questions, post-closing exceptions clearance and loan modifications. Participation in projects, business lending enhancements and technical issues are important components of this role. The position will also support Retail lender training, construction monitoring support, and opening accounts for Business Bankers. This role will be a producer responsible for loan, deposit, fee and referral production as well.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Dedicated resource for our Retail lenders, supporting critical small business needs with urgency and accuracy

  • Support Retail Lenders through learning curves of systems, loan structures and paperwork requirements

  • Assist Retail Lenders with the loan modification process

  • Ensure Retail Lenders adhere to strict lending relationship thresholds and product sets

  • Be a subject matter expert on Camden National’s internal processes and on small business lending

  • Cultivate and foster relationships with small businesses to uncover opportunities and assess their banking needs

  • Analyze applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loans, or submitting applications to the Credit Department for verification and recommendations

  • Develop and maintain community advocacy through centers of influence, community service and/ or bank functions

  • Meet or exceed established deposit, loan and referral goals

  • Update CRM and sales tracker weekly

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all bank products and services

  • Comply with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the Bank’s adherence to outside regulatory requirements

  • Maintain an awareness of the competitive landscape and leverages that knowledge to better serve the clients

  • Travel is required for this position within assigned territory.  Employees will use their personal vehicle with occasional nights and weekend obligations

  • Willingness to perform work outside of regular responsibilities to fit the business needs

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Business Banker

  • Proven success in sales; understanding sales process and business life cycle

  • Must be self-motivated, goal oriented and driven to provide exemplary customer service and achieve production goals

  • Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Office and personal computer literacy
