Postdoctoral Associate - Molecular Genetics of Addiction - Kumar lab

A is available in the laboratory of at The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) in Bar Harbor, Maine. We seek a postdoctoral fellow to study the neural circuitry underlying reward and motivation in the context of addiction in the mammalian brain. The position is ideally suited for an individual with a strong background in animal behavior who is also interested in learning mouse molecular genetics and genomics to address important neurobiological questions. Dr. Kumar and his colleagues at JAX have significant expertise in the genetics of complex traits, and ample opportunities will be provided for independent training in cutting edge genomics, including genome editing and single cell genomics. Required Skills:
We value the ability to plan, execute and analyze an independent research project as well as exceptional verbal, written communication skills, adaptability, and lifelong learning.

Qualifications:
M.D. or Ph.D. in biological or related life sciences is required.
Background in rodent behavior and addiction phenotyping, with interests in learning genetics and genomics.
Exceptional communication skills;

Experience working with rodent models
