Job Description
Join a dynamic Software Development Team and design, develop/configure and implement enterprise solutions on the Microsoft stack to enable business processes that support The Jackson Laboratory's shared quest to improve human health.
Working as part of an integrated Agile development team, the Software Engineer collaborates closely with other software engineers, systems engineers, database administrators, designers and product managers to deliver software capabilities end-to-end across the development stack (e.g. full-stack developers). The engineer actively participates in Agile development practices such as Scrum, Kanban, TDD, paired and mob work, automated and manual testing, and/or leading design sessions, and clarifying value and acceptance criteria for work. Software Engineers enrich JAX capabilities and toolsets, providing innovative solutions to research and business demands. The Software Engineer works on complex functional, technical, or architectural efforts, while executing them in an incremental and value-driven way. Requires broad technical knowledge and experience across a variety of IT areas, including domain knowledge, infrastructure, development, testing, design, analysis, DevOps technologies, and operations.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Agile team members to understand research and business issues and opportunities.
Develop/configure solutions to meet the need.
Test software utilizing automation and manual practices.
Implement proper security and governance controls.
Proactively advise leadership on impediments/blocks uncovered throughout the software
development life cycle.
Provide input into direction of our software practices and direction for each software platform.
Qualifications:
The job requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related experience.
At least 3 years of experience with Software Development preferably in an Agile environment.
Current experience with the latest technology stacks.
Familiar with 3 or more of the following: .NET, Angular, Next.js, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML/CSS, relational database technologies, Azure Devops, API development.
Familiar with 3 or more of the following techniques utilized in Agile software development: paired and mob programming, automated unit and functional testing, manual testing, user-centered design, test and/or behavior-driven development, and continuous integration and continuous deployment.
Familiar with 3 or more of the following leadership skills such as collaboration, product management, domain knowledge in a relevant stakeholder area, facilitation, influence, conflict resolution, and mentorship.
Proven flexibility and multi-tasking ability.
Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work with limited direct supervision.
The salary range is $ 65,432 - $112,472 Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience
