The Building Group of Cianbro is currently seeking experienced construction personnel who are seeking challenging experience building complex projects in the Life Science and related market segments. As a Senior Project Superintendent, you will provide overall administration of the on-site activities of the project. You will help drive safety, scheduling, quality, and sub-contractor efforts to ensure project objectives are successfully met.
Job Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions. This includes project safety, scheduling, engineering, material control and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administration staff and engineers.
Supervise sub-contractors to ensure that plans, specifications, schedules, and safety rules are adhered to in accordance with contract documents and Cianbro standards.
May authorize and/or approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field work orders, etc.
Provide technical assistance, recommending construction means and methods and equipment as required.
Ensure all onsite personnel complies with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
Interfacing with client representatives, subcontractors, and other contractors, etc. as required.
Work together with project supervision on a daily basis to communicate production goals and quality specifications of work, resolve issues that have surfaced (around people, means and methods, material or equipment use, etc. extra or out-of-scope work), and ideas to help the team achieve project goals.
Monitor project progress in relation to the Project Schedule and assist in developing strategies to alter the schedule to return to or beat the contractual timeline.
Perform additional assignments per the Supervisor's direction.
Qualifications/ Requirements
Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience in a particular specialty.
Minimum of ten years of construction superintendent experience in Life Science and related fields.
Experience participating in joint venture and teaming projects is preferred.
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, and methods), craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules, and safety required.
Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential.
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to complex technical problems.
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, P6, and Bluebeam.
