Spectrum Healthcare Partners is Maine’s largest multi-specialty, physician-owned and directed professional organization and is comprised of over 200 physicians practicing in the areas of anesthesiology, orthopaedics, pain management, pathology, radiation oncology, radiology, and vascular & interventional services. Spectrum provides services at many of Maine’s hospitals throughout the state and in eastern New Hampshire.POSITION SUMMARY
The Network Administrator II is responsible for the installation/configuration, operation, maintenance of distributed network and communications infrastructure in the organization’s enterprise operations environment that spans across 9+ sites and a co-located datacenter. Mentors Spectrum’s Service Delivery Team of System/Network Administrators and System Specialists in the routine operational management of the company’s network and communications infrastructure technology portfolio and resolution of routine service requests and successfully diagnoses, troubleshoots, and ultimately resolves incidents. Leads operational efforts for routine maintenance of the production environment and either partners with or escalates service issues with the Engineering team based on escalation and support framework. Supports and applies ITIL and ITSM framework in management of service requests and incidents. Where such resolution is beyond the capabilities of this team provides well documented escalation requests to the Engineering team for ultimate disposition and once resolved updates knowledge bases sufficient to reduce repetitive service requests in the future. Ensures effective and efficient network communications supporting Spectrum Healthcare Partners production IT platforms; both in proactively supporting the environment and resolving operational network issues across our Microsoft hybrid cloud environment spanning our on-premise/cloud production platform leveraging MS Azure and Office 365. These platforms provide both general business support and healthcare systems in support of our diverse patient population in hospital, clinical and ambulatory surgical centers. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (if any) None ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES+ Effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure
+ Performs day-to-day administration of the network and telephony infrastructure
+ Troubleshoots operational LAN, WLAN and WAN issues at local and remote locations
+ Tier 2 escalation point for other IT Operations personnel; technical resource for vendor management and support issues
+ Configures routers, switches, wireless access points and SD-WAN appliances in break/fix and new deployment scenarios
+ Coordinates installations of new equipment with local site contacts
+ Repairs and recovers from hardware or software failures. Coordinates and communicates with impacted constituencies
+ Provides direction and mentorship to junior personnel on how to diagnose and resolve production environment issues
+ Provides first response of all network infrastructure, management of trouble ticketing and daily maintenance / monitoring of systems
+ Proactively assesses assigned environment, resolves emerging issues to ensure those systems operate effectively and efficiently
+ Conducts routine, regimented testing and maintenance of wide area and local area networks
+ Ensures security, stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services by planning and performing maintenance of the local area networks and wide area networks across the organization
+ Works to minimize downtime and quickly troubleshoots/resolves related network issues
+ Proactively monitors and analyses network performance to identify trends and makes recommendations for future changes/upgrades and possible redundancies to ensure optimal function of the organization’s enterprise network environment
+ Plans and executes upgrades software on routers, switches, SD-WAN appliances and other tools as necessary
+ Performs moves-adds-changes on switch ports and for telephony equipment
+ Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
+ Identifies and resolves security risks; performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
+ Audits and documents the network infrastructure to ensure adherence to company standards
+ Works a ticket queue to ensure issues are being resolved in a timely fashion
+ Works with vendors to ensure cabling/equipment installations are completed per business requirements
+ Provides the Engineering team well-documented requests when necessary to ensure Engineer-lead efforts meet the needs of the general production environment
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES+ Meets with Engineers and Project Teams as necessary to provide Service Desk and operational environment requirements sufficient that the Engineers can provide relevant system solutions
+ Helps develop and document best practices and protocols as well as network diagrams
+ Proactively participates in change/incident management solutions
+ Participates in a rotating on-call schedule
+ Participates as a team member on technology products moving from pre-production to production environments
+ Provides regular feedback to project managers and management on project progress
+ Maintains personal adherence to professional and confidentiality standards established within the department and in accordance with legal, ethical, and internal policies
+ Attends meetings as assigned and participate in educational activities to keep skills up to date

QUALIFICATIONS+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or 5+ years related working experience
+ 3 + years healthcare industry experience or within a managed services provider environment
+ Knowledge of and 3+ years’ experience with HIPAA, PCI and PII
+ Knowledge of the OSI model
+ 3+ years’ operational experience with layer 2 switching concepts/technologies: MAC addresses, VLANs, Trunks, STP; IP addressing, subnetting and ARP
+ 3+ years’ operational experience with routing protocols such as: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP
+ 3+ years’ operational experience with of remote-access protocols: SSH, Telnet
+ 3+ years’ operational experience with of AAA protocols: TACACS+ and RADIUS
+ 3+ years’ operational experience with network discovery protocols: SNMP, Netflow, CDP and LLDP
+ 3+ years’ operational experience with MS Networking protocols
+ Knowledge of Access Control Lists (ACLs)
+ Understands common network troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup
+ Understanding of Quality-of-Service (QoS)
+ Knowledge of VPNs: Remote-Access and Site-to-Site
+ Knowledge of copper and fiber transport medias and their associated standards
+ CCENT/CCNA – Or equivalent knowledge/experience
+ 3+ years’ operational experience with products such as HP/Aruba switches, SD-WAN, Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus Switches, Meraki Wireless, F5 Load-Balancers, Cisco ASA, Fortinet and/or Meraki Firewalls, ClearPass Policy Manager, Cisco CUCM, Unity and UCCX, Net Scout and SolarWinds
