Job Description

17 Food & Beverage Attendant positions available.  One month experience required.  Help welcome and seat guests, present menus to guests, know all the dishes, ingredients and preparations, help take and place food and drink orders, help serve breakfast, lunch and/or dinner, help serve wine and other beverages, setup and breakdown dining room and service areas as needed, bus tables, restore and keep work stations clean. Rotating shifts, must be able to work holidays and weekends. Job is located on an island, accessible by ferry. Work will be performed on the premises of the Chebeague Island Inn on Chebeague Island, Cumberland County, Maine from 04/01/2023 to 10/31/2023. Provision of Board/Lodging is offered on an individual basis at a cost of no more than $120 per week and is optional. Employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due and workers will be paid weekly on Friday by direct deposit. Employer will provide or pay for the worker’s cost of return transportation and daily subsistence from the place of employment to the place from which the worker, disregarding intervening employment, departed to work for the employer, if the worker completes the certified period of employment or is dismissed from employment for any reason by the employer before the end of the period, consistent with 20 CFR 655.20(j)(1)(ii). Employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (not including passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). After the worker completes 50% of the work period, Employer will (in the next pay cycle) reimburse the H-2B worker for transportation and subsistence costs from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer to the place of employment, as is required by 20 CFR 655.18(b)(12). Employer will provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned, in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(k). The three—fourths guarantee applies, offering the worker employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of each 12-week period, in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(f. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $14.00 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
