Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Partners is Maine’s largest multi-specialty, physician-owned and directed professional organization and is comprised of over 200 physicians practicing in the areas of anesthesiology, orthopedics, pain management, pathology, radiation oncology, radiology, and vascular & interventional services. Spectrum provides services at many of Maine’s hospitals throughout the state and in eastern New Hampshire.

POSITION SUMMARY This position will be a hybrid of working on-site and remotely. Primarily responsible for providing technical support, within the Radiology Workstation (WS) Support team, for the Northern Radiology Division of SHCP at Northern Light in Bangor, ME. The person will work collaboratively with other members of the team to provide courteous and professional support to the teleradiologists and other physicians that work at hospital sites. They will triage WS issues and remedy them by working with the team or individually. Additionally, the position works in a team environment and helps broker positive business relationships and applications support mechanisms with key hospitals, vendors, and business partners. This position will also provide direct support to the Northern Radiology Division of SHCP at Northern Light in Bangor, ME. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

+ Works with information technology team members, as well as administrative and clinical staff, to ensure the timely delivery of support and service to physicians experiencing issues with home-based WS’s.

+ Maintains knowledge of current applications in the field of electronic imaging applications, and radiology workflow.

+ Serves as an IT resource in supporting Spectrum’s teleradiology platform including the interconnections of various RIS/PACS systems.

+ Regularly interacts with users of radiology systems as well as customers (hospitals and imaging centers) and vendors.

+ Works with developers in designing and implementing technology solutions to improve radiologist productivity, customer service, and integrations with partners and vendors.

+ Participates in the selection and implementation of systems such as RIS, PACS, Voice Recognition, 3-D applications, EMR integration, and related technologies.

+ Supports in-home radiologist workstations including preparation, set-up, connectivity, and ongoing support.

+ Provides hardware and software technical support for radiology information systems.

+ Develops and provides end-user training for custom applications and workflows.

+ Develops downtime, backup, and DR procedures.

+ Provide outstanding customer service and a positive support experience by interfacing directly with Spectrum employees on issues, communicating in a clear, concise manner

+ Coordinate and closely work with team members, end-users, and technical staff on problem resolution, tracking, monitoring, and reporting

+ Provide remote software installation and configuration support

+ Workstation management and adherence to all security requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Reports actual or potential patient safety issues and participates in their resolution.

+ Maintains a proper log of activities during the business day and during off-hours events.

+ Attends periodic physician, clinical and administrative-related meetings as assigned.

+ Assists manager in setting goals and developing strategies.

+ Occasional presentations to technical, administrative, or clinical staff.

+ Participates in educational activities to keep skills up to date.

+ Supports company-wide strategic initiatives.

+ Promotes a team environment through cooperative behavior and positive interaction with others.

+ Performs other duties necessary to maintain the overall efficiency and continuity of the department.

+ Supports the IT Operations Team when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Undergraduate degree or equivalent in education and years of experience.

+ 2+ years of experience with radiology systems, workflows, or other related healthcare experience.

+ Proficient computer skills with Windows-based operating systems, relational databases (SQL), spreadsheets, word processing, presentation slides, electronic documents, and e-mail.

+ Excellent customer service and support skills with an approachable demeanor

+ Ability to interact with administrative stakeholders and senior healthcare technology personnel.

+ Ability to make decisions and work both independently and on a team.

+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

+ Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in both technical and lay terms.

+ Demonstrates initiative to ensure consistent quality and continuous improvement.

+ Strong ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

+ Operation of various office equipment: fax machine, telephone & voice mail system, stationary/laptop computer, e-mail system, cell phone, pager, and copier.

+ Requires sitting or standing at a computer desk with multiple applications running at once.

+ Travel to various locations for meetings or professional development events.

+ Participation in on-call responsibilities with the flexibility to work after hours and on weekends as needed.

+ Lifting, transporting, installing, and supporting of workstations and monitors up to 50 lb.
