Spruce Point Inn – Landscape Worker – 2 Full-time temporary seasonal positions available (04/01/2023 – 11/01/2023)

Maintain the landscape on property using hand or power tools or equipment. Landscape Workers will perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and proper upkeep of landscape, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other ground features. Experience is not required, as training is provided for the position. Landscape Workers are required to prepare to landscape the grounds at the resort prior to the opening of the season.

Employer will offer a minimum of 35 hours per week. Open 7-days a week (holidays included). Shifts 8:00AM – 3:30 PM. Shift schedule start and end times and days off vary depending on work demand. Workers will be paid no less than $17.75 per hour. Overtime wage will be paid no less than $26.63 per hour. Overtime is available but is not guaranteed. Paid weekly. Employer will use single workweek (Monday to Sunday) as standard for computing wages due.

Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Employer will make all deductions from workers paycheck required by law; and optional employee housing. Workers have the option to live in Employer provided housing. Workers living in Employer provided housing will have daily transportation to and from the worksite. Employer will deduct rent from worker’s pay-check weekly. Onsite housing – $30/double & $20/triple per week for the Dorms. Offsite housing $120 per week for apartment. Daily transportation is provided for off-site housing. Van shuttle runs on set schedule from 6:45am to 11:00pm. Bicycles are also offered on a first come first serve basis per availability for any employee.

H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12 week period of the total employment period.

Employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. If the worker doesn’t use employer arranged/paid for transportation, employer will reimburse the worker for any transportation costs incurred in the 1st work week. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $14.00 per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts.
