Position Summary
If you are a recent graduate with a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) degree-or you will be graduating in May 2023, we want you to join our team! We have exciting career opportunities available at NorDx Laboratories/MaineHealth and will have the opportunity to progress to other positions such as a Lead Medical Technologist, Quality Technologist, Point of Care Consultant, as well as leadership positions within NorDx-or other entities within MaineHealth. You will receive exceptional training in all areas within one of our hospital labs or the core laboratory located in Scarborough. We have positions in a variety of locations across the Southern, Coastal, and Northern regions.
As a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for independently performing and monitoring laboratory testing of patient specimens according to established procedures and regulatory requirements. You will confirm, interpret, correlate and report normal and abnormal patient results. You will recognize technical, instrumental and/or physiological problems and initiate resolutions and assume responsibility for accuracy, quality control and required instrument maintenance.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a similar field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred
License/Certifications: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or as a Categorical Technologist (e.g., C, H, I, BB, M) required. Medical Technologist preferred (ASCP, AMT, HEW, ABHI).
Experience: N/A
Must be able to work any shift, holiday and/or weekend, and travel among company sites as needed.
