Health and Human Services Department – Social Services Division – Family Shelter - The Social Services division is seeking a Shelter Attendant at the City’s Family Shelter

This is a Permanent, Full-Time position with a Schedule of Wednesday-Sunday, 4pm to 12:30am -

The City of Portland’s full-time hours are 37.5 hours weekly. The candidate hired into this position will monitor residents' sleeping areas and conduct regular building safety checks while on shift.  Additionally, the candidate will complete shelter intakes, shift reports and client census data.  The important community services our staff provide include assisting with afterhours general assistance and providing families with their immediate needs. 

Requirements: Graduation from high school with experience in crisis intervention, mental illness, and substance use; or a combination of experience and training.  Come join our team at the Family Shelter and #dogoodwork in the Portland community!   Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with the homeless population or experience working in a homeless shelter.  Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.   

This is a CEBA Union position - Grade 9 - Pay range starting at $18.97/hour.
